There are myriad reasons to become a New York Times
crossword puzzle whiz. To name a few:
• Expand your vocabulary
• Start your day with some mental calisthenics
• Become part of an elite fraternity of fellow solvers
• Develop a healthy addiction
• Absorb a wealth of knowledge that will serve you well
• Have something to look forward to every day.
Mastering the New York Times crossword puzzle has
made me a different person. I’m much more eloquent,
articulate, confident and sophisticated than I was when
I began. I may not be innately smarter, but I'm
certainly wiser.
I’m quite sure I’d survive if, for some reason, The
Times deprived me of my daily dose. But I’m equally
sure that I’d feel like I lost a very close friend.
